Chloris Geospatial is a venture-backed technology company operating at the intersection of space-tech and nature-tech. Our mission is to accelerate the global transition to a net-zero and nature-positive economy with the most reliable, trustworthy and transparent natural capital data. We use industry-leading technology to measure the amount of carbon stored in terrestrial ecosystems.  Our state-of-the-art machine learning algorithms fuse data from multiple Earth observation satellites to provide accurate and scalable measurements of the carbon stocks and change in woody vegetation (forests, shrubs, and mangroves), anywhere in the world. Our  team has deep expertise in remote-sensing, AI & ML, ecology and sustainable business.

We are now looking for a Marketing and Communications Associate to join our growing company, and our Business Development activities, in particular. 

About the role 

We are looking for a talented and driven Marketing & Communications Associate with a passion for nature & space tech. You are excited about the opportunity to join a mission-oriented and high-potential start-up, anchored in pioneering Earth observation science and laser-focused on delivering best-in-class data and technology to nature-based solutions to the climate crisis. You are a strong writer, are creative, and like to tackle big ideas and projects. You are early in your career and bring initial experience in marketing and communications. Working for a new and growing company excites you, as does identifying and implementing processes and systems improvement related to the customer experience. The Marketing & Communications Associate will work closely with the Business Development, Product, and Leadership teams. 

Responsibilities

Marketing Strategy Implementation

  • Execute and refine Chloris's marketing and communications plan
  • Develop and maintain the Chloris editorial, content production calendar
  • Manage the Chloris digital and social media strategy implementation, including improvements and ongoing updates to the Chloris website 
  • Create compelling marketing collateral to showcase and explain our work and software 

Public Relations and Event Partnerships 

  • Manage strategic events and engagement partnerships and create impactful thought-leadership opportunities for Chloris
  • Manage the production of various publications, blog posts, white papers, webinars

New Business Lead Generation

  • Build lead-generation pipeline and processes in collaboration with the Product and Business Development teams 
  • Track and measure engagement and performance as part of an iterative approach to strategy execution

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business communication, environmental studies or similar
  • 3 years of professional marketing/communications experience, ideally  in corporate sustainability, land use and sustainable supply chains, and/or voluntary carbon markets
  • Skilled designer; solid working experience with standard design tools (Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, others) 
  • Google analytics/adwords experience
  • Working knowledge of email marketing tools (Mailchimp, etc.)
  • Wordpress experience a plus
  • Strong writer with a flair for social media and content production that generates business impact
  • Experiential / event marketing experience a plus
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent collaboration and negotiation skills
  • Excellent strategic planning, organizational and time-management skills

Location + Time Commitment 

This is a full-time position.  Location is flexible with a preference for locations allowing  hybrid work from either Florence, Italy or Boston, MA.  Chloris is a hybrid-first company with a transatlantic team based throughout Western Europe and the United States, concentrated near our Boston headquarters. We are committed to providing a hybrid work environment that allows for in-person and on-site collaboration at quarterly all-hands retreats, in addition to allowing for the benefits that come from flexible, work-from-anywhere arrangements.

Compensation 

Competitive remuneration depending on experience and location.
