Senior Accountant, Revenue & AR
Reporting to the Director of Finance and Accounting, the Senior Accountant, Revenue and Accounts Receivable is a newly created role which will support our strong growth.

In this role you will be responsible for all aspects of our revenue and receivables cycle in support of our two-sided, e-commerce marketplace. You will manage and prepare financial reports to track the organization's revenue recognition, sales activity, accounts receivable health, and other related financial activities. You’ll collaborate with other accounting staff on projects to ensure scalability with the growth of the business. This is an opportunity to utilize your experience to enable the scaling of our business through process improvement and new process development. 

What You’ll Do:

  • Perform regular and special analysis to ensure invoice accuracy and proper revenue recognition
  • Maintain accurate revenue recognition schedules and estimates for multiple product lines
  • Make standard journal entries including revenue recognition from unbilled, deferred, and other sources
  • Ensure proper accounting in accordance with ASC606
  • Evaluate existing, and implement needed, controls
  • Collaborate to prepare monthly annotated prior period variance analysis
  • Supervise and manage Accounts Receivable Specialist 
  • Manage invoicing and receivables process for new product lines and ongoing passthrough rebate programs
  • Work with cross-functional teams (Sales, Finance, and Partnerships) on open deals, advising on non-standard terms and communicating how revenue will be invoiced and recognized
  • Verify compliance with contractual terms, fee schedules, or other formal agreements
  • Improve Accounts Receivable and Sales reporting package to identify and address trends in concentration risk and aging management across product lines
  • Resolve escalated collections issues
  • Manage partnership with external Collection’s Agency and track effectiveness
  • Maintain adequate and supportable bad debt allowance along with annual write off processing
  • Receive and record receivables payments accurately
  • Provide outside auditors with assistance during annual audit
  • Recommend and proactively drive improvements to scale revenue processes
  • Support teams evaluating sales tax compliance
  • Improve and evolve processes and procedures documentation
  • Conduct regular and special analysis and reporting
  • Perform other accounting related duties as assigned

What We Look For:

  • Demonstrated experience with ASC606, specifically estimating variable consideration
  • Demonstrated experience managing all aspects of Accounts Receivable
  • Extensive knowledge of general financial accounting tasks 
  • Understanding of, and ability to adhere to, generally accepted accounting principles
  • Comfort with establishing new guidelines and procedures
  • Highly proficient with accounting and spreadsheet software including MS Excel and Google Sheets
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Instinctively builds in functions to check own work for errors
  • Ability to communicate, collaborate, and leverage resources effectively across the organization
  • Strong aptitude for research and problem-solving
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
