About This Role
We are seeking an energetic expert professional with deep experience in enterprise and services sales, and a proven track record of building and leading global sales organizations. A combination of a business and science expertise and a background in corporate sustainability, energy, or a related field are particular assets. 
This position will play a critical role developing and leading Carbon Direct’s sales function.

Key Outcomes for the new leader

  • Maintain and improve year-on-year growth % across multiple geographies and product lines
  • Align and coordinate product, customer success, and services teams to deliver great carbon management outcomes for clients
  • Attract and retain a talented and diverse team
  • Drive long-term employee success with a focus on coaching, development, and performance

Responsibilities

  • Develop and own the company’s global sales strategy in collaboration with the CEO and senior leadership
  • Manage a global team of sales executives and grow and evolve the sales function as needed
  • Lead sales target setting, funnel development and execution across advisory and platform products
  • Own the acquisition and growth of key accounts
  • Train marketing, sales, and leadership teams on sales processes and tactics to ensure successful interactions across all prospect engagements
  • Work strategically with Carbon Direct teams to improve conversion and retention rates.
  • Create connective tissue between the marketing, sales and account management functions
  • Coordinate across sales ops and marketing to drive GTM best-practices
  • Serve on internal technical and/or business working groups as necessary

Experience & Qualifications

  • Extensive experience building, leading, and managing sales organizations
  • Proven track record of leading teams to execute on and exceed targets
  • Referenceable examples of complex, high-value sales where customers commit to org-wide change.
  • Background in carbon removal, corporate sustainability, energy, or a related field is a plus; curious and hungry to learn a must
  • Experience closing complex software and professional services sales and maintaining client satisfaction with a mix of client types and industries
  • Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills; able to meet organization needs across a wide range of actors
  • Creative problem solver who can structure solutions for diverse client requirements
  • Self-motivated with strong operational skills to set and deliver on fast-paced deadlines
  • Strong leadership skills and team management
  • Collaborative and results-oriented
  • Passionate about climate action

Location: due to onsite client travel and need for time zone alignment, we strongly prefer candidates in New York, San Francisco or Seattle.
Base pay range: $200,000-$250,000
