About the role: Sr. Firmware Engineer

Responsibilities

We're looking for an experienced Firmware Engineer to join our team and take a leadership role in the development of our Irrigation Automation and Accountability (A&A) system that powers Lumo’s smart valves. This includes:

• Building for high reliability / resilience in the field. Irrigation is a mission-critical process for growers, making uptime and edge case handling a top priority.
• Building for scale. As the number of devices we have installed grows, we need to scale the ways in which we support them - from diagnostics, to over-the-air updates.
• Implementing in-field intelligence. Enable a device to detect, act and report on anomalous situations.

Experience and Skills

A strong candidate must have 5+ years of C++ firmware experience (not just C).

Specifically, we're looking for someone with a background in developing for:

• ESP32 & Arduino
• Battery-constrained environments
• C++ 14
