SUMMARY

Nexamp is seeking a M&A Associate to join our Utility-Scale Business Development team in support of Nexamp’s asset acquisitions and targeted growth strategy. The M&A Associate will be responsible for assisting the Utility-Scale team to establish and cultivate relationships with development partners in pursuit of strategic project and portfolio acquisition targets and deal transaction execution, including due diligence support, preparation of materials for internal approvals, origination support, and ongoing market and opportunity tracking. This role will report to the Director M&A, Utility-Scale Development. The ideal candidate will be based in either Boston or Chicago. We are supporting hybrid work. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with M&A Director to facilitate efficient progress of project and portfolio opportunities
  • Support due diligence efforts and internal approval processes for acquiring Projects and Portfolios
  • Assist with administrative priorities to maintain accurate internal data on transaction status, project details, reporting metrics
  • Evaluate the competitive landscape and research market transaction activity to obtain relevant insights for the team
  • Collaborate with Capital Markets, and other Nexamp employees to ensure that all relevant project information is accurately and thoroughly captured in the financial models and other valuation tools
  • Support deal origination efforts on behalf of Utility-Scale team across active and target markets
  • Sustain productive and responsive communications with internal partners.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Commitment to Nexamp’s mission and a passion for solving tomorrow’s climate crisis today
  • Interest in learning about larger industry trends and coordinating with multiple groups within Nexamp (i.e. regulatory, capital markets, design/EPC)
  • Bachelor’s or relevant degree required
  • Excellent communication (oral and written), organizational skills, and thorough attention to detail required
  • Demonstrated ability to balance competing priorities and manage multiple projects
  • 1+ years of experience in renewable project finance, development, or M&A preferred
  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment
