Job Description

This position will support leading edge decision analysis for operating battery and renewable projects in wholesale power markets using our SmartBidder trading platform. The ideal candidate has a strong background in the energy industry, economics, finance or engineering, and exhibits high levels of leadership and professionalism. We are seeking talented individuals with a serious commitment to energy analytics and the evolution of the grid towards greater renewable and storage penetration

Job Responsibilities and Essential Functions

• Lead the team of analysts to provide quantitative analysis, new client onboarding, and client support to optimize resource bidding in live operations
• Provide clients with expertise in the areas of wholesale market participation and risk management
• Devise new approaches to represent results that provide support for decision analysis
• Assimilate complex information into readily understood reports and presentations
• Lead scoping of new features for power market operations

Skills & Knowledge

• Strong interpersonal skills, teamwork skills, and work ethic
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Familiarity with DA-RT Trading and/or scheduling for batteries, renewables, or hybrid assets 
• Understanding of energy modeling system and methods
• Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and problem-solve with minimal supervision
• Excellent organizational skills
• Demonstrated track record of working with clients and teams

Education & Experience

• Two to five years of energy industry experience, including knowledge of deregulated power market operations
• Graduated degree; economics, engineering, and energy-relevant disciplines preferable
• Previous experience in project management a plus

Compensation ($100,000 - $160,000)

Negotiable based on qualifications and experience. Ascend highly values our employees and often pays above industry average.
