YOUR ROLE AT QUANTUMSCAPE: As a Senior Accountant within the Corporate Accounting team, you will play a key role in supporting cross-functional partners performing monthly and quarterly close responsibilities in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL: *Lead the global fixed asset accounting process and perform monthly and quarterly close for fixed asset processes in SAP FA and Project System modules, including AUC and final asset settlement, GL to sub-ledger reconciliation, applicable intercompany transactions and fixed asset roll-forwards as applicable. *Possess understanding of Fixed assets accounting and Life Cycle and experience in applying ASC 360 Property, Plant and Equipment per U.S. GAAP.*Review of capital asset POs to ensure proper coding of Fixed Assets group, and other classification such as SAP project system coding, asset class andcost centers.*Work with R&D, Engineering and FP&A teams to understand new capital purchases and creation of equipment and facility assets thereof. Work effectively across multiple business units within Quantumscape and serve as a link to bridge any gaps in end-to-end business processes. *Report monthly of AUC and Final asset list to managers and business team and track the completeness of project from spending versus receiving of CAPEX purchases till final asset settlement.*Place assets in service based on milestones communicated by equipment and facility project management teams and start of production.*Prepare and support other ad hoc GL journal entries and close activities and cross-train with peers to promote timely accounting close and teamwork.*Annually lead global Fixed Assets physical inventory and asset impairment assessment project by planning, coordinating, and tracking progress and results until the end.*Prepare required information to support internal audit and external reporting, including financial statements and supporting schedules for Forms 10-K, 10-Q etc. *Support critical accounting projects including the design, implementation, and maintenance of finance systems/applications.*Support the design, implementation, and maintenance of effective globalaccounting processes, policies, and procedures.
WHAT WE LOOK FOR: *Bachelor’s degree (minimum) and 5+ years of experience in an accounting and finance organization, mix of public accounting and private industry preferred. *Understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial statements. *Attention to detail resulting in consistently reliable, accurate and thorough work.*Good verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills *Work effectively in a team environment. *Excellent advanced MS Excel Skills (proficient with pivot tables, VLOOKUP's,and data analysis).*Experience in integrating of systems and automation of workstreams to make it more scalable and efficient and drive process improvements and automation to improve efficiencies.*SAP experience preferred. *CPA candidate preferred, not required.
Compensation Details: Salary for this role will range from 120K-155K depending on years of experience, degree(s), and skill sets applicable to the role. We also offer an annual bonus and a generous RSU/Equity package to all new associates.
