Engineering Technician

C-Zero is a hard-tech startup located in Santa Barbara, CA, that is developing a technology for decarbonizing natural gas. The company’s technology uses high temperatures to break down methane, (the primary molecule in natural gas) into hydrogen and solid carbon. C-Zero’s hydrogen can be used to decarbonize a wide range of industries including ammonia production, gasoline and diesel fuel, electric generation, process heat, and fuel cell vehicles, and has the potential to address 75% of global CO2 emissions. Responsibilities

• Calibrate laboratory equipment including mass spectrometers, mass flow controllers, and gas chromatographs.
• Generate lab testing reports for internal use.
• Develop standard operating procedures for lab equipment and lab processes.
• Help maintain orderly and clean laboratory.
• Manage inventory of lab supplies.
• Handle chemicals, and package non-toxic chemical waste for disposal.
• Procure equipment from local suppliers.
• Assist engineers in designing, fabricating and performing experiments.

Qualifications

• Certificate, associate’s degree, or bachelor’s degree in one of the following:
  • Chemical technology or
  • A related field like chemical process engineering.
• Laboratory or chemicals handling experience.
• Demonstrated ability to follow instructions, handle delicate parts and equipment, and work with hazardous materials.
• Experience working with power tools.
• Experience using software for digitized work flows.
  

Compensation

•  
• Salary range: $60,000 - $90,000
