Data Science Intern

This position will be based in San Carlos, CA.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Analyze data generated during development and testing of novel prototype designs.

• Calculate metrics to quantify performance, efficiency, and degradation; present your results clearly.

• Provide support to scientists and engineers who use data in their day-to-day research. Develop Python scripts to automate routine data analysis tasks.

• Build and maintain data dashboards for visualization of scientific data.

• Perform on-going database administration tasks for our historian and Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).

• Support data scientists in the development of infrastructure such as custom libraries and packages.

• Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, or similar.

• 2+ years working using Python to develop tools for data analysis. A combination of relevant coursework and prior industry or research experience is acceptable.

• Familiarity with common tools and libraries in the Python data science stack, including NumPy, SciPy, and Pandas. Experience developing tools for scientists and researchers in a Jupyter notebook environment is a plus.

• Familiarity with relational databases and experience working with RDBMS such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MS SQL Server.

• Prior internship or work experience at a start-up is a plus.

Actual base salary offered to the hired applicant will be determined based on their work location, level, qualifications, job-related skills, as well as relevant education or training and experience.​
