This position will be a key member of the Ascend Energy Exchange team, supporting sell-side and buy-side energy project transactions. The Ascend Energy Exchange is a marketplace for renewable & storage projects that streamlines auctions for the sale of energy assets & portfolios. This role will require supporting those transactions in a fast-paced, growing environment. The Transactions Analyst will have both customer facing and internal responsibilities

Job Responsibilities 

  • Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis of client assets  
  • Collaborate with internal and external deal teams to advance transactions  
  • Take ownership of complex projects and be able to perform independent communications and research Deal materials preparation (e.g. building executive clear, succinct summaries, pitch decks, management presentations and other ad hoc presentation materials)  
  • Coordinate, track, and perform transaction and counterparty due diligence activities, and methodically evaluate bids and offers  
  • Conduct industry and market research  
  • Financial modeling and valuation   
  • Interface with buyers, sellers and other third parties throughout the transaction process  
  • Support deal team in a wide variety of other areas as necessary  

Required Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's Degree in a business, economics, accounting, finance, or other quantitative field   
  • 2+ years of professional experience  
  • Experience preparing deliverables and presenting to clients 
  • Mastery of the Microsoft Office suite, including Excel and PowerPoint 
  • Interest in the energy transition and wholesale electricity markets 
  • Strong interpersonal skills, teamwork skills and work ethic  
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Excellent organizational skills  

Preferred Qualifications 

  • MBA or other graduate degree  
  • Experience in energy systems and economics  
  • Experience in M&A transactions, private equity and investment banking 

Compensation: $80,000 - $150,000                   

Negotiable based on qualifications and experience. Ascend highly values our employees and often pays above industry average.
