Haven: Growth Marketing Manager - Southern California focused
Haven Energy is a well-funded, seed-stage startup focused on accelerating the adoption of home energy storage through a two-sided marketplace model. We believe that widespread, distributed storage will be a key part of our energy future, helping stabilize the electric grid in the face of increasing climate change-induced weather events, an aging transmission and distribution infrastructure and increased electric loads due to home electrification. For homeowners, on-site storage will help prevent blackouts, reduce residential electricity costs and provide a level of energy independence and security.
With our two-sided marketplace model, Haven guides homeowners through the selection, quoting, financing and scheduling of a home battery system install, We then pair homeowners with vetted, qualified electricians to perform the installation. We offer a phenomenal experience for both the homeowners and the installers, as both are key to our long term success.
Summary of Role
Haven is looking for a Growth Marketing Manager to join as the founding member of our growth team. This is a multi-faceted role where you will be responsible for building the growth engine for the company from the ground up. The role requires a skilled growth marketer who can work across multiple channels, analyze data to determine the most efficient growth strategies and think strategically to develop new approaches in a rapidly changing environment. This role requires strong project management skills and the ability to deploy testing methodologies in order to constantly refine the channels, CTAs, creative and copy that yield the most efficient and scalable customer acquisition. This role is a special blend of art, science and extreme ownership. Building the growth engine at Haven, you will be at the forefront of advancing clean energy adoption by helping homeowners keep their lights on and manage their energy in a more sustainable way.
What you’ll do
Develop and execute Haven’s go-to-market and ongoing growth strategy
Have full accountability for customer acquisition, retention, and spend
Build the growth engine for the company, which includes digital marketing, offline sales channels, and channel partnerships
Build programmatic direct mail campaigns based on event triggers
Build marketing email and SMS automation based on data and customer insights
Use data to build targeted customer segments
Unlock and grow new channels through experimentation
Develop frameworks for rapid experimentation that optimizes our growth channels and campaigns
Develop clear and detailed reporting for marketing spend and relevant growth metrics
Work with product teams to improve the experience and increase conversion
Drive referral and brand ambassador growth channels, iterating on incentives, training and programs
Work closely with the local team to build consumer insights that will drive brand and customer strategy

have built, managed and optimized direct mail campaigns

are not afraid of learning, trying new things and making mistakes
love diving into data, have a deep analytical skillset and use data to base most marketing spend decisions
love wearing multiple hats and are just as comfortable giving feedback on copy and graphic design as you are building a spreadsheet model
are passionate about both the green energy, and the ability of a flexible grid to allow for more sustainable energy sources
have excellent communication and writing skills
have a minimum of 5 years of experience, preferably in a startup or high growth environment
get super excited about rapid learning and rapid growth
