Where in the world of Kaluza will I be working? 

As Solutions Consultant for Kaluza’s Retail Energy you will be responsible for understanding the needs of prospective and existing customers and designing solutions to help them achieve their organisational goals. This Solutions Consultant role will report to the Head of Client Solutions and play a direct role in sales to Kaluza’s largest clients globally.

You will be an expert on Kaluza’s retail products from a client or user perspective and provide key input to the sales process. You will play a crucial role in the technical side of a sale, evangelising the Kaluza platform and applying a consultative approach to helping customers understand the advantages of using it. The Solutions Consultant will also design Kaluza based solutions that meet a client's target outcomes. This aspect of the role will involve working with Kaluza’s platform ecosystem partners and understanding their products so that right partners can be selected to accompany Kaluza in a given solution.

You’ll be working on the Kaluza’s Energy Retail platform. This is a SaaS technology platform that aims to revolutionise the operating platforms for energy retailers globally. This platform has been built with scale and technical quality in mind and is the foundation for decarbonisation efforts by Kaluza’s customers. 

What will I be doing?

As Solutions Consultant you need to develop a detailed understanding of Kaluza’s product suite, as well as the typical legacy solutions available on the market. You will develop a good understanding of the challenges facing retailers and will be able to bridge the gap between technology and its commercial impact, illustrating for potential clients the benefits that our unique platform can bring to them. 

Some example activities include;

  • Supporting tender responses
  • Supporting sales pitches to new clients with product demos and deep dives
  • Working with existing and prospective clients to understand their current technology solutions
  • Architecting client specific Kaluza based solutions and demonstrating the commercial outcomes these will deliver clients
  • Developing client-specific proposals
  • Following-up due diligence questions

  • Passionate about renewable energy and consumer businesses
  • Understand the energy industry and the role of retailers and utilities within it
  • High degree of initiative and a commercial, entrepreneurial mindset 
  • Team player, open communicator and collaborator - keeps colleagues up-to-date, shares and learns without prompting.

Other desirable knowledge and skills includes;

  • Experience of SaaS sales a plus
  • Experience architecting large scale, impactful software solutions
  • 2+ years work experience in the energy industry working in software sales, consulting or in a relevant client organisation 
  • Ability to communicate clearly and distil complex concepts into easy to understand points
  • Experience in a role that demonstrates a customer centric focus
  • Know when and how to measure success. You don’t just use data, you know when to use what sort of data and the questions you need to help you answer
  • Equally comfortable working with leaders and team members alike
  • Comfortable with the ambiguity that comes from working in a fast-paced environment and adaptable to changing market needs
  • The ability to see long and short term, thinking tactically and strategically
