Salary: $100,000 - $130,000 + sales incentive scheme

Where in the world of Kaluza will I be working? 

You’ll be working on Kaluza’s Flexibility platform. Designed to be the nervous system connecting energy retailers, grid operators, and consumers, Flex will aid us in creating the distributed, consumer-centric, dynamic energy system of the future. Bridging the gap between distributed renewable generation and smart devices, it helps consumers shift their energy consumption to times when there's more renewable energy. This not only saves them money, but enables society as a whole to meet the challenge of decarbonising transport and residential heating/cooling. We’re also supporting this vital shift by building the innovative technology behind unique, market-leading customer propositions like Vehicle to Grid and Drive Anytime Energy Plan with our energy retailer partners.

We are recruiting for an Account Executive to drive Kaluza Flex’s commercialisation in the US. As Account Executive , you will report to the Head of Business Development and be responsible for building pipelines and driving revenue growth from the Kaluza Flex solution. You will be an important part of the global BD team responsible for the sales cycle with key clients from early stage relationship building through to sale closing, delivery and upsell.

 

What will I be doing?

As Account Executive, you will be supported by a range of Kaluza colleagues: marketing and policy experts, solutions architects, partnership managers and in-life client executives.  Together, you will be expected to build client relationships from an early stage, identify their needs, propose compelling applications of the Kaluza Flex product suite and ultimately negotiate and contract with them for our services.  

Some example activities include;

  • Identifying and engaging potential clients
  • Delivering intro sales pitches and live demos to new clients
  • Creativity in networking to get introductions to buyers
  • Developing client-specific proposals
  • Contract and pricing negotiation
  • Forecasting and reporting revenue growth for the senior management
  • Distilling and relaying market intelligence to internal teams to guide the roadmap
  • Coordinating sales activities across teams (e.g. marketing, pre-sales, legal, delivery)
  • Winning renewals and upsells with account management team
  • Identifying new opportunities for Kaluza Flex capabilities to add value to customers

Is this the job for me?

Ideally you’ll have/be;

  • Passionate about the renewable energy and technology businesses 
  • Considerable experience in the utility and enterprise software/SaaS industry
  • Experience in all stage of the sales/BD process, including ownership of a pipeline
  • A high degree of initiative and a commercial, entrepreneurial mindset 
  • A team player, open communicator and collaborator - keeps colleagues up-to-date, shares and learns without prompting.  
  • A start-up mentality and ability to self-organise
  • The ability to see long and short term, thinking tactically and strategically
  • Passionate about working in a dynamic environment and responding to change
  • High emotional intelligence and ability to empathise and work through differing opinions
