About Green Project

Green Project is a SaaS-based carbon accounting and ESG management platform. Under increasing pressure from regulators, investors, customers and employees, businesses—especially small and medium businesses—are struggling to calculate and report on their GHG emissions.

Using Green Project’s platform, businesses of any size can begin tracking and monitoring their footprints. Ultimately, our platform provides the tools our customers need to begin tracking and reducing their corporate carbon footprint in compliance with the GHG Protocol.

About this position

As our lead systems architect, you will take on ownership of our existing cloud-based infrastructure. Working in conjunction with other technical staff, you will identify opportunities to optimize existing infrastructure, and provide solutions and enablement to the product team as they implement new functionality.

As you familiarize yourself with our platform and roadmap, you’ll play a key role in enabling our team to scale by taking ownership of DevOps-related processes and helping us implement robust SDLC practices.

This position will report to the CTO. As part of a small team, you’ll have the opportunity to grow professionally and gain experience in a variety of areas, and ultimately help drive our product forwards and help us provide a powerful tool for businesses to decrease GHG emissions.

Responsibilities:

  • Designs, configures, and monitors infrastructure for our platform and other related systems
  • Assists development team with implementing and upgrading cloud resources to enable rapid feature development.
  • Designs, implements and maintains improved DevOps tools to optimize development workflow. Helps streamline deployment processes, CI/CD pipeline, and related orchestration tools.
  • Maintains and upgrades monitoring, logging, and alerting tools to enable full real-timem visibility into all resources
  • Evaluates and implements infrastructure upgrades to improve platform performance and availability.
  • Ensures cloud resources are correctly configured to comply with customer and regulatory data security requirements; documents and evaluates security controls.
  • As a member of a small team, assists with other technical and customer support needs on an as-needed basis.

Background/Desired Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or a related field
  • 2 + years experience working in a production cloud-based software environment
  • Experience with AWS products (or their Azure/GCP equivalents) such as: Amazon S3, AWS Lambda, Amazon Elastic Beanstalk, Amazon EC2, API Gateway, AWS Inspector, Route53, CloudFormation
  • Experience with MongoDB, MongoDB Atlas, Git, Docker
  • Understanding of React.js and Node application architectures
  • Experience working with RESTful and/or HTTP APIs
  • Experience building and maintaining CI/CD infrastructure and other orchestration tools
  • Strong understanding of encryption, network, and application security best practices.

Nice-to-haves:

  • AWS Cloud Practioner certification or higher
  • Passionate about sustainability, decarbonization, or other ESG-related concepts
  • Familiarity with SOC2 and related security standards
