Renewable Energy System Specialist in Cologne or Zurich (80-100%)

• Your mission at Climeworks is to enable Direct Air Capture and Storage (DAC+S) projects by developing world-class renewable and low carbon energy supply systems.
• You integrate these energy generation systems, heat supply systems and energy storage technologies for the application for Climeworks DAC plants with high availability and time-matched energy supply.
• You analyze low carbon energy supply system technologies for their technical and commercial maturity and development trajectory.
• You provide guidance to the Project Development Unit on market developments in the renewable energy market worldwide.
• You develop and maintain a database of worldwide energy resources specific to Climeworks’ needs for DAC+S operations.

• You completed a technical university degree in Mechanical, Process or Chemical Engineering or similar with a focus on energy education, including both renewable and conventional energy technologies as well as electricity and heat storage.
• You have a minimum of three years' work experience in renewable energy system development, design and/or construction as well as a fundamental understanding of Life-Cycle Assessment (LCA) for energy technologies.
• You have detailed knowledge of renewable energy technologies, including technical know-how, system design, maturity, availability, etc. and you acquired skills in cost modelling.
• You take ownership of your work and operate with a high degree of autonomy.
• You have a structured approach to problem-solving, and you thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced and interdisciplinary setting.
• You are business fluent in English and on top of that you are motivated to travel occasionally.
