Senior Procurement Manager - Marketing (Contract / day rate)

Contract Length: 6 months

Day Rate: £500 per day

Where in the world of OVO will I be working?

Location: London based with hybrid working available 

You will be working within OVO's newly formed Procurement Team which sits within the Finance area, reporting to the Head of Procurement.

Buying goods or services is a crucial part of our business, enabling us to deliver a whole range of products to our customers - marketing campaigns, smart meters and everything in between.

The Procurement Team’s objectives are:

• Driving aggressive commercial benefits to support OVO's targets
• Getting the Procurement basics right, reducing risks and driving compliance whilst still allowing OVO to operate in an agile manner.
• Maintaining a knowledge of relevant supply markets, products, technologies and trends.
• Continuously striving for improvements in cost, value and innovation.
• Implementation and support of Procurement systems that support the execution of opportunities whilst reducing risk and improving compliance.

What will I be doing?

You’ll business partner with operational partners (i.e. Chief Customer Officer, Heads of Departments) across the business to co-define requirements for our supplier ecosystem clearly, and in a manner which enables suppliers to provide optimum return on investment and innovation.

You’ll develop various category strategies across decentralised functions (including but not limited to Brand Media Buying and Creative, Digital and Performance Marketing, Public Relations and Corporate Affairs, Marketing Automation and CRM and Group Fulfilment) and use data to build and keep updated a clear view of category spend and suppliers.

You’ll also be responsible for ensuring the Procurement Policy and process is followed, balancing risks and driving compliance whilst still allowing OVO to operate in an agile manner.

Key responsibilities include:

• • Developing a category savings opportunity analysis
  • Posting Contract and Commercial Management of Agency fees and Remuneration models
  • Delivering savings that contribute towards the OVO procurement team objectives
  • Ensuring relevant budgets are in place and all OVO partners are aligned with the procurement policy and process
  • Continuous improvement of Procurement tools (P2P, RFP, Contract database), whilst managing change with OVO partners.
  • Supporting the implementation of new procurement systems and process
  • Supporting OVOs Plan Zero objectives

Is this the job for me?

We’re looking for somebody with extensive experience within a senior procurement role, even better if you’re MCIPS qualified (or working towards this).

You’re a strong communicator and negotiator with good presentation, facilitation and conflict resolution skills and you’re confident establishing relationships across all levels, in particular with senior leaders across the business. You’ve got the experience and gravitas to deal with senior partners but also the drive to deliver operational and tactical opportunities.

Ideally you will have:

• Strong experience across multiple procurement categories
• Comprehensive experience in Marketing procurement with solid understanding of Media Buying and Marketing Remuneration models and contracts
• Able to apply skills beyond the traditional functions of Procurement and to bring them to bear on a broad range of commercial issues.
• Knowledge of Procurement systems (i.e Source to Contract and P2P)

You're a self-starter and great teammate with a collaborative, pragmatic approach. It’s not crucial but it would be a plus if you’ve had previous exposure to energy and technology businesses.
