META is seeking a Process Development Technician / Technologist for our Thurso, QC facility. You will play a key role in developing, operating, and maintaining manufacturing equipment and systems.

What You'll Do: 



Under the general direction of the Process Development Manager, the Process Development Technician/Technologist will have a unique hands-on opportunity to work with semi-automated machinery, helping produce our proprietary nano-optic technology for anti-counterfeiting and brand protection markets. Although strong technical aptitude is required for this role, in-house training will be provided as most of our processes are unique to Meta.  



Some of the typical responsibilities will include: 



  • Assist the setup of systems and equipment on our manufacturing lines  

  • Operate different processes using various films, adhesives, and machinery 

  • Support the installation of new equipment and systems  

  • Analyze system and process performance and make recommendations for improvements 

  • Identify manufacturing faults & provide troubleshooting recommendations 

Minimum qualifications: 



  • 2 years’ experience working in a related production/manufacturing environment.  

  • Diploma in engineering or a related technical field 

  • High attention to detail and ability to document processes and procedures.   

  • Experience using software business tools like Microsoft Office programs including Excel, Word, Project, Teams, and Outlook.  

  • Motivated, self-driven professional.  Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines while working on multiple tasks.  Enjoys working within a multi-disciplinary team & capable of working under minimal supervision. 

  • Capable of lifting 50lbs  

 

Preferred qualifications: 



  • Experience in large-scale printing, printed electronics, hologram manufacturing, or display manufacturing in an ISO environment. 

  • Experience with roll-to-roll machinery, characterization techniques, industrial printing processes and experience working with UV/thermal curing resins. 

  • Experience with PLC’s, and 2&3D design software programs will be considered an asset.
