Job Description

META is seeking a Technical Project Manager, Facilities Construction for our facility in Thurso, Quebec.  You will play a key role in the site’s vision and long-term planning. 

 

What You'll Do:

Reporting to the VP and General Manager, the Thurso site’s Technical Project Manager, Facilities Construction will be responsible for all aspects of the safe and efficient running of the facility as well as lead all major facilities projects including major physical site renovations, equipment upgrades and installations. 

  

Some of the typical responsibilities will include:

  • Project lead all site facilities projects including scope and budget definition and agreement, selection and management of contractors, government relations, reporting, and record maintenance
  • Able to operate in the face of uncertainty by making implementation decisions based on limited information and risk assessments
  • Project lead all site equipment installations and commissioning including FAT, SAT, IQ/OQ/PQ, logistics and certifications
  • Implementation of security systems for exterior/interior door access, motion detection, video surveillance, site access and remote monitoring
  • Implementation of fire detection and suppression systems
  • Selection of facilities contractors
  • Design of building services and building automation systems

 

Minimum qualifications:

  • 5+ years’ experience in a Facilities Management or Project Management position
  • BSc/BA in facility management, engineering, business administration or relevant field
  • Bilingual English & French; spoken and written
  • Proven ability to lead successful projects
  • Ability to build relationships and consensus within diverse groups with differing goals
  • Well-versed in technical/engineering operations and facilities management best practices
  • Knowledge of basic accounting and finance principles
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Good analytical/critical thinking

 

Preferred qualifications:

  • Relevant professional qualification (e.g., CFM, PMP)
  • Experience working in an ISO-certified environment
