Job Description

We now focus on building the world’s most modern and efficient Gigafactory in Dunkirk (France). With this facility, our ambition is an initial annual production of 16 Gwh of lithium-ion batteries by 2025, thus powering 300,000 electric vehicles annually.

Responsibilities

  • To optimize the formulation depending on the cell characteristic (power, durability target)
  • To develop the characterization methodology from slurry to electrode
  • To build the supplier's network for binder and conductive additives
  • To lead Next Generation Electrode Design
  • To support the transfert (Pilot to Mass Production) to the Electrode Process Engineer
  • To support the screening and selection of electrode components
  • To support the Separator development

Requirements

  • MSC or PhD in materials science or electrochemistry or polymer science
  • Electrode formulation, slurry preparation and coating
  • Characterization, evaluation of slurry (i.e. rheological properties) and Li-ion battery Electrode
  • Working with different mixing/slurry preparation technology (planetray mixing, high energy dispersion,...)
  • Working with different coating machine technology
  • Experience with extrusion technics, continuous mixing and dry-coating would be a plus
  • Experience with Si-based anode electrode would be a plus
  • To develop the electrode formulation and Verkor Know-How
