Summary of Role:

The Head of Technical Services, APAC is responsible for managing technical teams during wind and solar farm development, ensuring adherence to standards and managing relationships with key contractors. The role will also oversee the technical teams’ collaborations with other Mainstream departments, establishing, maintaining and updating internal processes and procedures as necessary.


What You Will Do:

  • Managing and mentoring a team of technical professionals to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety, while maintaining cohesiveness across technical teams in APAC. Teams include GIS, EAG and Engineering.
  • Managing the technical aspects of wind and solar farm green fielding, acquisitions and development, including site selection and design up to FC.
  • Ensure technical departments follow local and/or Mainstream standards, whichever is highest.
  • Managing relationships with contractors and vendors to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Collaborating with other departments within the company, such as PMO, procurement, finance, legal, and SHEQ, to ensure that projects are completed in compliance with all applicable regulations and laws, and approved budgets.
  • Establish internal RACI matrices for key technical deliverables to an MRP project, to improve inter-departmental/cross-country workflows.
  • Manage regional development of roadmaps per technical departments, that sets strategic goals for operational efficiency and increased productivity.
  • Collaborate with senior managers in the development of performance goals and long-term operational plans across technical departments.
  • Expand technical teams as needed in region, to meet business objectives.
  • Developing and implementing onboaring systems and tools for technical departments, to improve technical staff onboarding/training.


What We Require:

  • A broad range of technical management experience in EAG, GIS and engineering.
  • Profound knowledge of Mainstream’s Global Development Standard.
  • Experience in Asia Pacific region.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills. 
  • Ability to work with significant autonomy. 
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. 
  • Ability to work in a team, coordinate and enthuse colleagues and consultants. 
  • Strong initiative and the ability to proactively identify required tasks. 
  • Ability to maintain sight of the ‘big picture’ and overarching objectives at all times 
  • An organised approach to working, task prioritisation and time management. 
  • Excellent verbal / written communication skills 
  • Strong report writing skills.
