Chassis Raw Material Senior Buyer

Volta Trucks, a hypergrowth European Electric Truck Manufacturer, is looking for a Chassis Raw Material Senior Buyer to join our Purchasing team. This is a hybrid role split between our head offices in Reading, remote working and our contract manufacturing partners facility in Austria.

What you will do:

The position will sit within the Chassis Direct purchasing team reporting to Chassis Principal Buyer with a focus on Raw Materials and have responsibility across the whole department. You will have ownership in creating and delivering the strategies with the support of the Principal Buyer overseeing. The Chassis Raw Material Senior Buyer Role is at the core of Volta Trucks Procurement process and is an exciting and truly cross-functional opportunity to make a discernible impact. As a member of the Procurement team, the Senior Buyer has the following responsibilities:

• Develop Volta Trucks Raw material reporting & purchasing strategy. Working with buyers across multiple commodities to educate, negotiate and support raw material purchasing
• Reporting of key raw material movements and trends over the previous 18 months to internal stakeholders, up to and including directors
• Collect and manage intelligence and developments in Raw Materials on the global market, providing insights to internal stakeholders
• Providing Quarterly & 6 Monthly material data to generate risks/opportunities across multiple axis (Part/Supplier/Truck)
• Create long-term commodity strategies to support the growth of the purchasing power as Volta Trucks expand

We would like you to have:

• Experienced within direct procurement/Production purchasing

• A proven track record of end-to-end supply base management within Raw Materials - strategy, sourcing and delivery

• Broad experience within manufacturing – preferably automotive industry

• Strong analytical skills and the ability to simplify complex data
• Experience of financial and raw material market analysis
• Understanding of key cost drivers for raw material values
