Chassis Senior Buyer

Volta Trucks, a hypergrowth European Electric Truck Manufacturer, is looking for a Chassis Senior Buyer to join our Purchasing team. This is a hybrid role split between our head offices in Reading, remote working and our contract manufacturing partners facility in Austria.

This is a unique opportunity to join an ambitious scale-up where you will have the opportunity to contribute to the manufacturing strategy for a forward thinking, rapidly expanding business.

What you will do:

Reporting into the Chassis Principal Buyer you will be responsible for developing, sourcing, and managing the supply base within the Chassis commodity group for Volta Trucks. You may also be required to assist and be involved in other areas. As Senior Buyer you will play a key role in negotiating terms and strong service agreements whilst building sustainable and robust long term supplier relationships.

• Manage multiple sourcing projects, during the sourcing and delivery phase, to meet programme requirements
• Develop and execute purchasing strategies, delivering against business objectives and supporting global growth plans
  
• Lead supplier engagement, negotiations, sourcing and contract management (for prototype and production supply base)
• Deliver effective supply chain management throughout your supply base to support global production requirements
• Work closely with key cross functional teams to ensure transparency, be responsible and accountable to make and influence key decisions 

We would like you to have:

• Significant procurement experience
• Experienced negotiator with a proven track record of end-to-end supply base management (strategy, sourcing, delivery, and ongoing management)
• Strong influencing skills with experience of networking and developing relationships with all levels of an organisation. Experience of financial and quality supplier qualification processes
• Understanding of key cost drivers in manufacturing
• Experience building and leading high performing teams
• Experience working in direct or aftermarket procurement
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to simplify complex data
