Senior Thermal Validation Engineer

Volta Trucks, a hypergrowth European Electric Truck Manufacturer, is looking for a Lead Thermal Validation Engineer to join our Test & Validation Team. This is a hybrid role split between our head offices in Reading, remote working and our contract manufacturing partners facility in Austria.

This is a unique opportunity to join an ambitious scale-up where you will have the opportunity to contribute to the manufacturing strategy for a forward thinking, rapidly expanding business.

What you will do:

Lead the testing activity and support the development of thermal systems (powertrain, battery, and cabin)

• Review requirements & create Test Specs

• Implementation of the test cases into the relevant Test assets (HIL rig, Vehicle
• Creation of Automated test using (Automation Desk for HIL testing).
• Implementation of the test cases into the relevant Test assets (HIL rig, Vehicle).
• Creation of Automated tests using (Automation Desk for HIL testing).
• Identify/Raise the needs for new test assets.
• Implement controls logic in Simulink Models to enable complex testing logics.
• Raise identified bugs via Jira (be able to present them clearly explain, provide evidence and report the issue).

We would like you to have:

• Relevant experience in thermal and EV vehicles preferably
• Experience in CAN, LIN and Ethernet.
• Exposure to developing controls logic in Matlab/ Simulink.
• Test Automation experience.
• Simulink modelling experience.
• Ability to understand complex embedded systems
