Prototype Build Electrical Technican

Volta Trucks, a hypergrowth European Electric Truck Manufacturer, is looking for a Prototype Build Electrical Technician to join our Vehicle Integration Team. This is a hybrid role split between our test offices near Nuneaton and remote working, with occasional travel expected.

This is a unique opportunity to join an ambitious scale-up where you will have the opportunity to contribute to the manufacturing strategy for a forward thinking, rapidly expanding business.

What you will do:

You will take responsibility for lead pre-production builds across all Volta’s products. Reporting to the ‘Prototype Build - Principle’ and sitting within the Vehicle Integration team, you will support the delivery of all future project Prototype Builds. This will include day to day leadership of both internal and externally contracted teams to ensure on-time delivery of builds.

Main Responsibilities

• Harness rework and creation
  
• HV support
  
• Assembly and build of our prototype vehicles.
  
• Providing engineering feedback during build and identifying improvement opportunities.
  
• Liaison with, and support of, other teams to ensure business deadlines are met
  
• Harness Design, interpretation and Build
  
• LV & HV harness and systems diagnosis

We would like you to have:

• Strong experience in product development with focus on whole vehicle prototype build
• Experience in one of the following areas would be advantageous, Automotive sector, Prototype Build, Motorsport, Aerospace, Commercial Vehicles.
  
• Previous experience in the utility/commercial/heavy vehicle sector and xEV projects is advantageous
  
• Proven track record of ability to deliver against build plans
• Hands-on experience and understanding of prototyping techniques
• Knowledge of Hazardous Voltage (HV) systems and processes
• The ability to Interpret engineering information in multiple formats with a focus on 3D CAD assemblies and components.
