We are looking for creative and collaborative team members to join our research and development team. This role will be responsible for contributing to new design project for products, processing equipment and custom manufacturing equipment as well as assisting engineers and scientists in the construction, repair and modification on lab and pile scale membrane test equipment. This role is ideal for the accomplished Laboratory Technician who is experienced in collecting data, running experiments, and troubleshooting experimental setups as well as experienced with design, problem solving and equipment maintenance.
what you will be doing
Efficiently plan experimental studies utilizing Design of Experiments techniques
Collaborate with multiple team members to analyze results and approaches to reach technical conclusions
Perform testing on membrane products to determine operating envelope and expected performance in real world use
Analyze data to draw conclusions about product performance or design
Develop new approaches to product development to address customer concerns or value
Use experience and expertise in a problem-solving environment with sales and marketing personnel, process engineers, scientists, the manufacturing team, and customers
Communicate and present results at meetings; present scientific results to a diverse audience through data analysis and visualizations.
what you need for this position
Creative and self-motivated; Excited about variety, non-routine tasks, and working on multiple projects as a member of several teams
Demonstrated ‘hands-on’ mechanical ability
Previous experience with design, problem solving, and equipment maintenance
Able to interpret and carry out Standard Operating Procedures and maintain clear, organized, and accurate written and computer records of designs, procedures, and test results
Skills - Experience with solvent use, experience with safety reviews, gas chromatography, karl fisher testing, and experience with MS Office applications or similar software
Helpful Experience – small volume manufacturing, gas and liquid delivery systems, manufacturing technology or applications, coatings, polymer processing, chemical processing, AutoCAD, equipment maintenance and calibration, machine control, laboratory and shop safety, general machining (mill and lathe) mechanical and electrical assembly
Associate Degree or higher in related field and minimum of 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing or R&D role, or minimum of 5 years’ experience performing a similar job
