Project Manager - Engineering & Materials

In this role you will contribute to achieving our goal of building a European network of 1,000 fast charging stations on prime locations where electric drivers can charge their vehicles with energy from the sun and wind.

Your role

Fastned is expanding its network of fast charging stations in Europe and is looking to strengthen the team with a Project Manager - Engineering & Materials. In this role you will be an integral part of an experienced and international team and you will be responsible for delivering high quality charging stations across all our markets in Europe. You are working in close cooperation with our architects and construction managers as well as with our external suppliers and construction partners.

Our fast charging locations across multiple markets are built using standardized construction elements, such as canopies, illumination and foundations. As Project Manager you will:

• Manage development projects of new elements as well as continuous improvement projects

• Collect requirements and write specifications for future solutions and improvements

• Research and find technical solutions as well as materials and evaluate them in terms of feasibility and cost

• Be the contact person for external engineering partners, suppliers and advisors

• Test and Evaluate new developments inhouse, at a suppliers factory or in pilot projects on site

• Ensure the quality of our building elements to match our high standards

• Update documentation and control the internal change management

Your desk can be in one of our many welcoming offices in Cologne, Amsterdam, Ghent or Paris. You will travel around all the locations we are operating in, in order to meet our partners, suppliers and own construction sites across Europe. Who we are looking for

You have gained some first experiences as a civil or design engineer and want to look beyond the calculations, participating actively in building a better mobility for our environment. You are not afraid to make mistakes and you are always keen to keep on learning. “Think like a founder” is something you identify easily with. Additionally, you tick the following boxes:

• You hold a relevant degree, e.g. in industrial, civil or structural engineering (or an equivalent education)

• First experience in a similar role (preferably at an engineering office)

• Excellent organisational skills and a high level of initiative

• Systematic and solution oriented thinking and an eye for detail

• Ability to work in a structured manner and prioritise your tasks efficiently

• Willingness to travel within our current markets (NL, DE, BE, UK, FR, CH)

• Fluency in English and a second language (German, Dutch or French) is a must

• You hold a valid driver’s licence
