Logistics Specialist

Job brief: 

The Logistics Specialist role is within the Productization Group at Twelve. This group seeks to develop innovative new manufacturing processes and automation tools to establish Twelve as a world leader in carbon transformation. It consists of several teams that focus on different aspects of engineering, manufacturing, new product introduction, quality, and customer deployments of our CO2 conversion systems.

In this role, you will have an impact on Twelve’s mission to lead the way to a fossil free future through carbon transformation. You will be an integral part of Twelve’s development of CO2 conversion processes. This role includes partnering with internal customers on projects while reporting to the Logistics Manager. The Logistics Team that you will be on is collaborative, fast-paced and detail focused. This role includes overseeing regular reporting of KPIs as well as providing support to cross-functional teams in a fluid startup environment.

You are the right candidate for this role if you are equally comfortable developing processes from the ground up as you are with refining existing systems. In this role, you will make an impact by creating structure around the process and flow of incoming/outgoing materials. The ideal person for this role has managed shipping and receiving duties in a startup environment while leveraging industry best practices. We are looking for a logistics professional who is adept with warehouse/logistics operations and has a passion for Twelve’s mission.

What you will do:

• Manages the shipment, receipt, and distribution of all products, materials, and supplies.
• Resolve unclear packing slips, invoices, and memorandums to ensure prompt availability of material and timely payment to suppliers.
• Monitor all modes of transportation (e.g. TL, LTL, air, sea, rail, parcel), including import/exports, brokerage and Customs clearance. Communicate status and/or delays to the appropriate parties.
• Maintain an accurate log sheet of daily moves (both internal and external material movements), material receipts, and discrepancies (problem parts).
• Assist suppliers and/or related parties, as needed, with preparation of commercial documents for domestic and international transactions.
• Collaborate and effectively communicate with stakeholders regarding material returns.
• Create and establish KPIs (Key Performance Indicators)
• Work directly with Twelve’s Third Party Logistics (3PL) provider to obtain the best rates for shipments.

• You have 5+ years of relevant experience.
• You are knowledgeable in warehouse and logistics operations.
• You have knowledge re: DOT rules and regulations.
• You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• You have strong knowledge of intercoms and hazardous materials.
• You are able to work independently, as well as in a team environment.
• You have a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
• You are able to identify process gaps, and continuously push to improve your area of responsibility.
