Position
GreenBiz Group is seeking a full-time Accounting Manager, who will be responsible for managing the company's accounting functions, including financial reporting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger accounting, and oversee a senior staff accountant.
This is a newly created role reporting to the SVP of Finance. The ideal candidate will have a solid accounting understanding, and one that is proactive, self-directed and connected, and someone that can potentially evolve to become the Controller. The Accounting Manager will be expected to provide support in senior-level meetings, take part in key growth projects, and be comfortable with interfacing with a variety of audiences internally and externally. Our HQ is based in Oakland, CA, this position would require some light travel to the HQ office at times.
Responsibilities
Manage the day-to-day accounting operations of the company, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger accounting.
Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of month-end procedures and create a sound process as the company grows.
Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations, income and cashflow statements.
Maintain an effective internal control environment in line with company’s operations.
Directly liaise with external tax firm that prepare and file tax returns, to ensure compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations.
Establish and maintain effective relationships with other departments and external partners, including attorneys, bankers, valuers, customers and vendors.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required; CPA certification required.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting or finance, ideally with a mix of public accounting and industry experience.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles and practices.
Experience with financial reporting, with strong analytical skills and structured thinking, and able to problem solve solutions for ambiguous situations.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Low ego with a willingness to jump into day-to-day tasks with excitement
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel with experience in Netsuite and Anaplan a plus.
