The role

We are looking for a Senior Product Manager to join our Virtual Power Plant team. Your team will lead efforts to unlock more energy flexibility for our users, to save them money and make the grid greener and more stable. You will work with a team of 7+ engineers to ingest signals from the energy system, optimize our scheduling algorithms, and manage more demand. Your portfolio will include the VPP, grid feeds, demand response APIs, and energy data integrations. You will also act as an energy systems expert in the ev.energy Product Team, and ensure that we stay at the forefront of this fast growing industry. 

What will you do? 

  • Develop and execute the product strategy and roadmap for the VPP and Energy Data teams 
  • Own relationships with key stakeholders (Head of Grid Services, Director of Utilities Solutions) on behalf of the Product team
  • Work with the product analyst to define KPIs for the VPP and Energy Data teams, build dashboards, and drive continuous improvement
  • Work with closely with the Policy team and conduct market research to stay up to date on industry trends and identify opportunities 
  • Work with engineering teams on the design, definition, documentation and implementation of new features, maintaining the backlog and roadmap in Jira
  • Be the internal expert on the VPP and Energy Data as a product, working with Sales, Marketing and CS groups when needed

What are we looking for?

  • Experience in product management, focusing on energy flexibility applications
  • Experience in EV charging or IoT is preferred
  • Experience working in an agile development environment
  • Proven track record of delivering successful products from ideation to launch
  • A clear and concise communicator with an demonstrable ability to inspire cross-functional peers and build trusting relationships with commercial stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with track record of using data to make informed decisions
  • An ability to read and understand technical specifications and API documentation. You’ll ideally have a technical background or be a very technical product manager!
  • Knowledge of the energy sector and a passion for addressing climate change
