EVmatch is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to provide technical leadership and strategic decision-making, build new software features, and improve existing features. You will manage the engineering team, manage and improve our release processes, conduct code reviews, make strategic technical decisions, and directly contribute to the codebase at least 50-60% of the time.&nbsp;
The Lead Software Engineer will work closely with the Product Manager, CEO, Senior Software Engineer/s, and other leadership staff to rapidly improve the EVmatch application, increase product scalability, and iterate based on customer and strategic partner feedback. The core product is a node.js web application and hybrid mobile applications (iOS and Android) that leverages the same code base. The application uses React/React-router/Redux for the frontend, expressJS for the API backend, and a PostgreSQL database.&nbsp;
The Lead Software Engineer will collaborate on product strategy/roadmap and release timeline with the Senior Software Developer/s and Product Manager, directly develop product features and architect software infrastructure.
The ideal candidate is someone who has leadership experience and wants to grow significantly in the area but also wants to contribute to the codebase directly and build out a suite of cutting-edge EV charging products.
Responsibilities and Duties:
<ul>
<li> Design complete and complex frameworks, systems, and products</li>
<li> Support technical decision-making to improve product functionality, maintainability, scalability, and performance</li>
<li>Architect and manage software infrastructure</li>
<li> Improve functionality of the web application on both the frontend and backend; developing new features, fixing bugs, and improving overall UI/UX</li>
<li>Systematically and strategically address tech debt in conjunction with a new feature development</li>
<li>Design and implement product components on time and within budget</li>
<li> Complete 2-3 new strategic API integrations with EVSE hardware and other software products within the first 12 months</li>
<li>Work closely with Product Manager to monitor and analyze customer engagement to inform product development strategy</li>
<li>Rapid product iteration to test customer acquisition strategies and behavioral flows</li>
<li>Develop and execute unit tests for product components</li>
<li> Provide peer code review and feedback to other developers</li>

Qualifications and Skills:
Required:

<li> BS in Computer Science or equivalent degree required</li>
<li> 4+ years of full-stack software development experience, with exceptional frontend development skills</li>
<li>Strong leadership and interpersonal skills. Experience directly supervising staff or a small team.</li>
<li> Strategic thinker and a problem solver: deeply understand the problem at hand; understand the business and key drivers for success</li>
<li>Strong written and verbal communication skills</li>
<li> Experience working in a small team setting</li>
<li> Thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced, environment and will do what it takes to deliver results</li>
<li> Highly proficient in React.js or other MVC frameworks (Angular, Ember, etc.)</li>
<li> Ability to build modern UI with HTML5 and CSS</li>
