We are looking for an Associate of Finance and Structuring who is passionate about clean energy and an aspiring leader in the development of Ascend’s innovative risk-transfer offerings.

Job Description  

As an Associate of Finance and Structuring at Ascend, you will support the creation, modeling and validation of innovative revenue risk transfer offerings Ascend is commercializing through its EnSurance business.  Additionally, you will support clean energy asset transactions occurring through the Ascend Energy Exchange.  This quantitative and partner-facing role will enable you a deep knowledge of current and future economic viability of clean energy assets across the country and leverage your quantitative acumen to facilitate project deployments. 

Job Responsibilities  

• Facilitate new and existing customers with clean energy project finance modeling. 
• Develop and execute a replicable, scalable financial review process. 
• Maintain interactions with finance community to ensure models are up to date with current debt and equity return targets and financing structures. 
• Identify and pursue opportunities for further value creation within existing or via new risk-transfer offerings. 

Required Skills & Knowledge  

• Minimum of two years of project finance experience with a strong record of success, preferably in the energy sector 
• Excellent quantitative skills and ability to interpret complex financial structures. 
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to communicate value proposition of complex financial structures. 
• Interest in shaping and building an industry-leading business facilitating clean energy finance 
• Curiosity and internal drive to learn and contribute 
• Professional presentation; positive “can do” attitude; passion for clean energy market transformation. 

Preferred Skills & Knowledge  

• Proven project finance experience in clean energy  
• Interest in problem solving and creative structuring to manage financial risk 
• Strong academic performance and demonstrated interest in STEM-related studies 
• Advanced degree; MBA a plus 
• Ability to prioritize and act independently within a rapidly growing, dynamic organization 

Compensation: $70,000 - $100,000 

Negotiable based on qualifications and experience. Ascend highly values our employees and often pays above industry average.
