Based in Grenoble (France), we have recently started operations our Verkor Innovation Centre (R&D centre and 4.0 pilot line).
We now focus on building the world’s most modern and efficient Gigafactory in Dunkirk (France). With this facility, our ambition is an initial annual production of 16 Gwh of lithium-ion batteries by 2025, thus powering 300,000 electric vehicles annually.

You lead on the design of the Gigafactory layout to integrate the layouts of both machines and building. The mission is to optimize footprint and material/people flows while also achieving the requirements from many different areas: operations, maintenance, process engineering, construction, safety, and more.
You are embracing the objective of building and structuring Verkor as the most advanced battery manufacturing company in the world.
Responsibilities
- System design for the factory logistics is a priority.
- Clear communication between many different groups, including construction vendors, machine suppliers, and more.
- Optimizing trade-offs between multiple design goals, such as CapEx reduction, OpEx reduction, operational excellence, safety, and schedule
Requirements
- Evidence of exceptional ability. Verkor follows a culture of full-cycle engineering where members will have full responsibility and accountability for their projects from start to finish. We are looking for the best of the best.
- 5 to 10 years of experience working with factory design.
- Experience with AGVs, conveyors, stacker cranes, and other transport vehicles.
- Experience in manufacturing environment, particularly with high-volume product (>100,000 or > 1,000,000 products per day).
- Advanced knowledge in BIM modeling and CAD software tools, specifically AutoCAD 2D for layout drafting
- Basic: Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or similar discipline.
- Preferred: M.S. in Industrial/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or similar discipline.
- English (knowledge of Korean and French will be useful)
- Relocation from Verkor's headquarters and pilot line in Grenoble to the Gigafactory site in Dunkirk will be required in the future
