With a passion for dairy, we are dreaming of someone who's practically a cheese whisperer – whether it's animal or plant-based, they know their scamorza. At Formo we’d have you diving into a world of flavor formation, dancing with the reaction pathways of ripening cultures, and decoding the secrets of ripening conditions. Responsibilities
Conduct VOC flavour analysis using GC MS, including method development, refinement, and calibration for all Formo products
Research and understand reaction pathways connected to flavour formation in animal-free dairy products
Translate discoveries into applications through close collaboration with our scientists and developers
Analyse and present data in a comprehensive way to various stakeholders
Manage research activities (internally & externally) in the area of flavour and sensory
Ph.D. in Food Chemistry, Food Engineering, Plant or Biochemistry, or related field, with a focus on flavour chemistry, flavour generation, and technology or MSc with relevant experience in flavour analysis, ideally in food or dairy applications
Sound knowledge of food technology and demonstrated project management skills
Experience in state-of-the-art tools for flavour analytics, knowledge of sensory/chemometrics
Demonstrated capability to establish and manage external collaborations, especially within a multidisciplinary context
Ability to think strategically and application-oriented
Fluent in English, German is a plus
