Job Description

Sustainable Membership Sales Manager - Sustainable Workspaces

We are looking for a Sustainable Membership Sales Manager to join our Workspaces team. Our unique spaces and flexible memberships are designed to inspire creativity and collaboration in a purpose-driven environment. Members have access to, and are supported by, the wider Sustainable Ventures team; with expertise in sustainability, venture capital and entrepreneurship.

Workspaces currently operates one site in London’s County Hall (opposite Westminster), a 40,000 sqft co-working space dedicated to sustainability and climate tech innovation, with over 1000 entrepreneurs and innovators.

The Role

The Sustainable Membership Sales Manager will have a passion for and an understanding of the sustainability sector. This person will manage the membership sales for all new members joining Workspaces. They will hold dual responsibility over new membership acquisition and account management, ensuring we continue to build and maintain a vibrant ecosystem of sustainable businesses. They will require a commercial mindset as well as an understanding of Sustainable Ventures in order to communicate the value of joining Sustainable Workspaces to potential new members.

This person will process enquiries which come in via marketing channels, qualifying leads, setting up initial phone calls, carrying out tours. They will assist with the on-boarding process, ensuring all new members are correctly set up on our systems via the Front of House team.

In addition to their sales responsibilities, this person will be responsible for existing membership accounts and contracts, discussing membership changes with members and updating contracts accordingly. They will work closely with the Membership Manager to channel the waitlist into upcoming voids, ensuring the space remains full at all times.

They will act as a support mechanism for the Community and sounding board for members. They will work with the Programme & Events Manager and the wider Community Team to plan and deliver social, workshops and well-being events to support member growth.

They will also work closely with the Venture Support team within Sustainable Ventures, to ensure we are making valuable connections between service offerings and maximising value for the businesses in the ecosystem through engagement with Sustainable Ventures.

Specific Responsibilities

New Memberships:

  • Collaborating extensively with the Membership Manager to maintain a consistently high occupancy rate of over 95% and successfully meeting monthly revenue goals.
  • Conducting informative tours for potential members and actively generating demand for all types of memberships, creating a waitlist when certain membership types reach full capacity.
  • Creating and managing both organic and non-organic sales channels, such as brokers, the Sustainable Ventures network, and partnerships.
  • Overseeing the onboarding process for new members and coordinating with the Community Team accordingly.

Account Management:

  • Serving as the primary point of contact for all member accounts and contract inquiries, promptly addressing any concerns and updating contracts in Office RnD (workplace platform) as needed.
  • Ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of member accounts and contracts, including both core memberships and additional services.
  • Managing member inquiries regarding storage, workshop usage, and additional services, utilising Office (our property management system for efficient management).
  • Providing support to members regarding their accounts, assisting with any technical or administrative issues they may encounter.

Community & Events:

  • Collaborating closely with the Programme & Events Manager to meticulously plan and execute internal events, encompassing social gatherings, educational workshops, and wellness activities.
  • Hosting regular meetings with members to stay informed about their business updates, foster relationships, and identify areas where support may be needed.
  • Serving as the main point of contact for non-operational member inquiries, offering a positive and supportive ear to address any concerns.
  • Establishing strong connections with Sustainable Ventures to facilitate valuable networking opportunities and involve members in SV's commercial activities.
  • Taking charge of organising all internal events for members, including social gatherings, networking events, breakfast sessions, and workshops, among others.
  • Developing plans for seasonal social events, including summer and winter festivities.
