About the Role

Kopperfield is looking for a scrappy and customer-centric Chief of Staff to join our team. This role will incorporate aspects of customer experience, sales, partnerships, and product. This role will likely be a 6-18 month tour of duty, ending in a senior role within the company. Initially, you will partner directly with the company’s founders to initially focus on three vital areas:
  1. Enhancing customer experience in our EV charging business.
  2. Pioneering new product lines, with an emphasis on solar technology and heat pumps.
  3. Cultivating sales channel partnerships to broaden our market reach.

In this role you will...

Customer experience
  • Support the existing customer operations function and introduce sales best practices to increase conversion for our electric vehicle charger installations via the Kopperfield platform.
  • Supervise customer interactions, making direct interventions when necessary. Collaborate with customer operations and the contractor management team to resolve customer escalation issues and ensure that we’re providing a top-notch customer experience.
  • Foster customer loyalty and evangelism. Work closely with marketing and product teams to leverage that customer love.
Key Metrics: (1) Conversion rate (from lead to booking) and (2) Customer satisfaction (e.g., NPS).
Special projects
  • Design and implement a pilot program for a new product line such as solar or heat pumps to test the market before we dedicate additional resources.
  • Formulate and implement strategies for marketing new electrification products to current and prospective customers.
  • Work with new and existing contractor partners to develop installation pricing and fulfillment channels.
  • Share insights and recommendations with the broader team.
Key Metric: New product bookings or attachment rate.
Partnerships
  • Collaborate closely with the founders to develop and support strategic sales channel partnerships for home electrification projects.
  • Build and manage a robust partnership pipeline of potential partners. Produce documentation and presentations to support partner outreach and engagement.
Key Metric: Channel partnership contribution to gross platform volume (GPV).

Qualifications – you might be a good fit if...

  • You have spent 5+ years at a top consulting firm, held a business operations role at a high-growth tech startup, and/or served as a previous general manager of a product line at an established tech company.
  • You have direct, hands-on experience with customer service and sales.
  • You are experienced and excited to use low-code or no-code tools to bootstrap projects with limited to no product or engineering resources
