Job Description

Summary

Due to our continued growth, we are looking for a Logistics Shift Leader who will support the Warehouse Manager and lead the Logistics shift team whilst also supporting other activities such as Goods Receipt, Picking Operations, Lineside Support and MRP Record Management. Other duties include; managing out-of-hours deliveries, ensuring collections are achieved and reviewing the impact of material status changes versus planned production schedules. The current shift patterns alternate between Earlies (6am – 2pm) and Lates (2pm – 10pm).

 

  • Leading a team of Warehouse Operators
  • Responsible for completing return-to-work interviews, monitoring annual leave bookings and adhering to HR policies.
  • Organising the safe and efficient receipt, storage and dispatch of warehouse materials, goods and products to distribute within the business.
  • Issuing stock to lineside as per Production Plan.
  • Supporting wider business development processes
  • Stock control of finished goods, consumables and materials.
  • Packing and preparing delivery of goods to customers.
  • Providing components from stock for all departments.
  • Ensuring that inventories are accurate and control inventory levels by ensuring physical counts are conducted and reconciled.
  • Championing and deploying any continuous improvement projects relating to inventory.
  • Liaising with other departments to ensure that all orders are tracked and updated with estimated delivery times.
  • Ensuring daily warehouse checks are completed on each shift.
  • Maintaining the stores facilities to ensure a clean and tidy area.
  • Updating our ERP system of stock receive against purchase orders.
  • Ensuring a comprehensive handover is available for the next shift.
  • Leading year end stock take activities.
  • Responding to out of hours material shortages.
  • Other relevant duties as required.

 

To succeed in this role, we believe you'll need:

  • Previous experience managing a small team in a Warehouse environment. 
  • Experience working within a mechanical or electrical production environment.
  • Familiar with using Excel, Outlook and a stock management system.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Good attention to detail and results-orientated
  • Understanding and appreciation for H&S policies and the need to ensure a safe working environment for yourself, colleagues and visitors.
  • Flexible approach to work

 

Though not expected, it would be very beneficial if you have:

  • A full Driving License
  • Experience in operating forklift vehicles
  • Experience of using Microsoft Navigation Dynamics ERP System.
