Role Description

Form Energy is hiring a Battery Cell Multiphysics Modeling Intern as part of our Battery Products team. In this role, you will work alongside full time modeling engineers to develop our battery cell models. You will explore new feature options for our battery model and contribute to our experimental validation strategy for new and existing features. You will be part of a highly collaborative and cross functional team, and have the opportunity to grow your engineering and communication skills while helping tackle climate change.

What You'll Do:

  • Analyze experimental data to inform decisions for improving our modeling validation strategy

  • Document methods to streamline processes and stabilize outcomes 

  • Work closely with experimentalists to ensure good data to inform and validate models 

  • Share the responsibility of model improvement with the engineering modeling team 

What You'll Bring:

  • Pursuing a PhD in Engineering at an academic institution in the United States or Canada

  • Familiarity with COMSOL

  • Expert in Finite Element Analysis Modeling

  • Eagerness to learn new battery chemistries

  • Strong communication and organizational skills 

  • Ability to work full-time (40 hours per week) in over a continuous 4- 6 month period
