First, some background information on Battolyser Systems. Eight years ago, some really smart people at the Delft University of Technology invented the world’s first integrated battery- and electrolyser system. They named it a ‘Battolyser’ and realized this invention could connect renewable power generation in a revolutionary way with how society will consume energy in a net zero emission world. To make real impact, the technology was spun-out of the Delft University of Technology into a company in 2019 to demonstrate a proof of concept in an industrial setting. And so, Battolyser Systems was born.

Fast forward to today. We have a patented and proven technology, we are commercializing our products and made our first sales. We are starting up our first factory and are planning the fully automated mass manufacturing version to be ready in 2024. Present day we have attracted over 50 people and anticipate to double this number this year. In growing the company we are looking to recruit an Operational Buyer to help deliver Always Clean Energy to the world.

About the role

This role lies at the core of Battolyser Systems and as the Operational Buyer, you will play a vital role within the Procurement department related to operational purchasing activities. Your mission will be to support our Supply Chain team by expanding and nurturing our network of suppliers. Collaborating closely with internal stakeholders, you will execute following key responsibilities:

• Responsible for creating Purchase Orders for warehouse items and office supply.
• Responsible for sending the orders to the suppliers.
• Perform proper follow up with the suppliers on order’s confirmation and delivery and expedite when necessary.
• Process price changes in the system and handle invoice differences.
• Responsible for resolving issues with suppliers or escalating to the Senior Buyer where necessary.
• Ensure a seamless and uninterrupted flow for procurement transactions within the Company.
• Procurement activities will also include contracts and outside services if required.

Who are you

To excel in this role, we believe you possess a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Management, Marketing, or a related field, coupled with a minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in a related industry. Your passion lies in supporting Supply Management team with various procurement activities. You enjoy interacting with both external and internal stakeholders and you possess exceptional prioritizing skills, enabling you to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. You will actively engage with suppliers and colleagues to foster collaborative relationships. Specifically, you possess the following qualities:

• Good command of the English language in word and writing.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills, including the ability to develop high quality working relationships both internally and externally with customers and the suppliers.
• Have an accurate mindset with an eye for details.
• Problem solver and flexible team player who can work with a diversity of people and culture.
• Resilient and driven.
• Independently evaluate, assess and initiate action.
