Role Description

The Information Technology group at Form Energy collaborates closely and supports end users across the U.S. in four locations and with a distributed workforce of onsite, hybrid, and remote employees.

The Senior Network Engineer is a new role, part of a growing IT group, and will join a team responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining Form Energy's network infrastructure. This role will play a critical part in ensuring our network systems' reliability, security, and efficiency.

This opportunity will initially be based at Form Energy's Eighty Four, PA facility until construction for our first-of-its-kind advanced battery manufacturing plant is completed in nearby Weirton, WV. At that time, the role will transition to Weirton. Relocation assistance is available.

What you'll do:

  • Design, configure, and implement network infrastructure solutions that support Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, operations, and IT, to understand business requirements and translate them into network design specifications

  • Conduct network capacity planning and performance monitoring to ensure optimal network operation and scalability

  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot network hardware, software, and peripheral devices, such as routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and procedures

  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, such as NERC-CIP (North American Electric Reliability Corporation - Critical Infrastructure Protection) for SCADA systems in the utility sector

What you'll bring:

  • 10+ years of experience working as a network engineer with demonstrated experience focusing on designing and implementing enterprise-level networks

  • Strong knowledge of network protocols, architectures, and technologies, such as TCP/IP, VLANs, OSPF, BGP, MPLS, VPNs, and SD-WAN

  • Expertise in configuring and managing network equipment from multiple vendors, such as Cisco, Meraki, SonicWall, and Ubiquity

  • Proficiency in network monitoring and management tools, such as SolarWinds, Nagios, Wireshark, and NetFlow analyzers

  • Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex network issues

  • Well-developed communication and collaboration skills and a passion for our mission
