The Global Environmental Senior Manager is a collaborative and empowered leader responsible for leading our global environmental programs.  You will play a critical role in helping Fluence execute its Sustainability Mission.  You will lead a team of regional Environmental Managers on a day-to-day basis to drive strategy, regulatory compliance, policy implementation, and advancing our environmental stewardship globally.  You will engage and gather alignment from a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. The Global Environmental Director will provide advice on global environmental trends, impacts, and best practices.  A successful candidate will have a deep understanding of the environmental impacts a global business can have AND the ability to view them from a lens of innovation. 

To thrive in the position, you must be comfortable working in a fast-placed, high growth organization and enjoy leading strategy and mentoring teams to accomplish the following key objectives: 1) lead strategy development and manage implementation that ensures environmental stewardship beyond compliance 2) build and manage key relationships 3) balance regional business needs with global initiatives that create lasting value and increase stewardship.

As the Global Environmental Senior Manager at Fluence, you will:

  • Lead development of Global Environmental strategy and anticipate emerging global priorities and opportunities.
  • Lead regional environmental team to ensure regulatory compliance and drive innovation.
  • Represent Fluence’s environmental work with key stakeholders (ex. customers, industry associations, NGOs, etc.)
  • Develop and implementing global data strategy to ensure complete, actionable, and verifiable reporting.
  • Collect and provide regional feedback on global environmental strategies.
  • Support corporate Sustainability and ESG programs.
  • Partner with stakeholders to identify and prioritize future trends and environmental risks.
  • Advise, promote, and represent a culture of regional environmental compliance, stewardship and accountability by leading meetings, trainings, and audits.
  • Coach and develop team members. 

What will our ideal candidate bring to Fluence?

  • Graduate Degree in Environmental Studies or related field.
  • 15+ years of experience featuring management of environmental programs in global organizations.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle and report environmental data including compliance, energy, waste, water, and GHG for annual reporting.
  • Thorough knowledge of environmental regulations.
  • Familiar with ISO standards, particularly ISO 9001 and 14001, LEED, Green Globes, BREEAM, and Energy Star.
  • Experience effectively communicating technical information and standards including complex regulatory requirements to a variety of audiences.
  • Demonstrated clear, concise, and succinct communicational skills.
