POSITION’S RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the CEO and playing a key leadership role at DeepSea, the VP of Revenue will oversee and be accountable for the following areas of go-to-market activity.

  • New business – Outbound prospecting and sales. Expanding our sales opportunities across the globe.

  • Expansion business – Ensuring that we maximise opportunity from our current customers, with the support of the customer success team.

  • Pre-sales / sales engineering – For all aspects of sales and partner interaction.

  • Revenue operations – budget and target planning, forecasting and pipeline reporting.


They will be in charge of Sales and Marketing and work closely with the Customer Success and Product teams to ensure that DeepSea’s product suite finds, and develops for, the right customers – thereby delivering the highest possible volume and quality of commercial activity to the business.

Key responsibilities for the VP of Revenue will include:

  • Taking responsibility for achieving revenue targets through active leadership and ownership of the sales strategy development;

  • Building and maintaining a team of global sales professionals in key territories around the world;

  • Being hands-on in providing learning, training, and development initiatives impacting the sales organisation;

  • Providing stewardship of sales talent acquisition, retention, and development;

  • Bringing the required technical capability ‘in-house’ within the sales team and developing efficient handover processes with other departments;

  • Full accountability for investment and return, including measurement of success through KPIs and SaaS metrics;

  • Developing a network of channel partners to support sales growth

  • Collecting and distilling feedback about DeepSea, its products, and the market.


The VP of Revenue Director must be familiar with, and excited by, executing large enterprise SaaS sales in a complex environment.


CANDIDATE PROFILE

With an entrepreneurial mindset and a passion for delivering outstanding experiences to customers and partners, the successful candidate will be inspired by DeepSea’s culture and mission, and the opportunity to scale and grow a hugely promising and ambitious business.

Required experience/attributes:

  • Experience in growing the sales function in B2B companies

  • A strong track record of attracting, developing and retaining high-performing and well-organised sales teams

  • A strong track record of personally performing enterprise SaaS deals

  • Previous experience in the maritime industry

  • Familiarity with technical topics encompassing both engineering and technology

  • Experience in deploying data-driven sales processes and utilisation of SaaS metrics

  • Experience in the full spectrum of sales leadership responsibilities including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.


Preferred experience/attributes:

  • An engineering or shipping background
