About the team
You will be part of our software team, including Backend engineers, Cloud engineers, Data engineers, Architects, Test engineers and Program managers. Our mission is to support other functions in the company by developing software to help serve our data, i.e., with a data platform to support the end2end processing of our satellite data into geospatial solutions, including the tools to request, query and access the data, but also supporting other functions to write their software, e.g. mission operations for the satellite constellation.
Location – Our team work across the Brussels, Freiburg, and Munich offices, this position requires you to be based in Germany or Brussels.
The role
The solutions we are working on require either external-facing interfaces, e.g., for accessing the geospatial data, or internal-facing ones for analysis or operations. You will be deciding on the technology and strategy to build the frontend for these applications and working closely with the software department and other relevant departments.
As our Frontend Engineer, you will be:
Driving the design and development of application frontends for various desktop and web projects. You will be responsible for the architecture and setup of the Frontend solutions at constellr and must be comfortable taking ownership in this domain.
Support the growth of the team with frontend technologies. While you will be the sole frontend engineer, it is expected the rest of the team can support you with appropriate guidance on your part.
Manage the delivery and timeline of the frontend projects with support from our technical project manager.
Bridging into the backend services as well as supporting backend developments if needed.
Support the Software Engineering Team with design, development and improvement of existing and upcoming software projects ensuring the best possible quality and User Experience.
Keeping up to date with and evaluation of new technologies and frameworks and standards.
About you
Required:
3 to 5 years of relevant experience building web and desktop applications.
University degree in Computer Science or related field, or relevant work experience.
Ability to coach other members of the team on frontend technologies sharing your knowledge and expertise.
Have the confidence to be the expert on frontend technologies and solutions at constellr, and drive related developments (internally and externally).
Good experience with relevant programming languages, e.g., TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, etc, and relevant frameworks, e.g. React, Angular, Next.js, Vue.js
Good knowledge of testing (unit, integration and end-to-end) and experience in working with test suites (e.g., Jest) and interface testing tools (e.g., Selenium).
An engaging and social team-player spirit, with a strong motivation to help build and shape constellr’s organization.
The ability to work autonomously and analytically and be result-oriented.
Skilled in both written and spoken English.
