What We Are Looking For: Are you a seasoned campaigner with strong organizing, leadership, and communication skills? Are you looking to contribute to successful campaigns and push them even farther? Are you passionate about collaboratively designing and implementing strategic, science-based market and policy campaigns to protect the health of people, pollinators, and the planet from toxic pesticides and shift toward equitable, healthy and ecologically regenerative food systems in the U.S. and beyond? Do you have the desire to work with allies to build power and build the movement to end the use of toxic pesticides that are drivers of the biodiversity and climate crises and that threaten our health -- especially children and farmworkers who are most vulnerable.
If so, this is the position for you. We want you to succeed, and we want to pay you a competitive wage that is in line with your experience. The salary range for this full-time remote role is $79,000-$85,000. This position is part of the Nonprofit Professional Employees Union (NPEU) at Friends of the Earth.
Who You Are:
Transformational and Authentic Leader: Build effective, broad-based coalitions and advocacy strategies to advance campaign objectives. Co-design and oversee implementation of campaign and organizing strategies including digital, communications, and on the ground actions. Support research to be used for crafting campaign strategy or for specific campaign goals and activities.
Relationship Builder: Engage with companies, investors, and policymakers on the social and environmental harms of pesticide-intensive industrial agriculture and the need for stronger private and public policy. Represent FOE as a spokesperson with media and at public events.
Team Player with a Collaborative Mindset: In conjunction with the Digital, Communications, and Development teams, write and review compelling communications materials for FOE supporters, funders, allies, and press. Work with the team to develop and implement high impact campaigns designed to build power and win transformative companies and public policies to shift away from toxic pesticides and advance organic and ecologically regenerative farming.
