Job Summary: The Center for Climate and Energy Solutions (C2ES) seeks a Digital Communications Manager to oversee digital storytelling and develop strategic communications deployed through digital assets, including web and social media platforms to work within a collaborative communications team with shared responsibilities.

Requirements

Responsibilities:

Primary responsibilities include content curation in collaboration with climate and clean energy policy experts, website administration and development, and generating social media and digital advertising strategy. The Digital Communications Manager will also support overall communications management, including messaging development, media engagement, event planning, and promotion of products and live virtual events.

 

The Digital Communications Manager will oversee digital storytelling and develop strategic communications deployed through digital assets, including web and social media platforms. Primary responsibilities include:

  • Creating content in collaboration with climate and clean energy policy experts to support goals for federal policy, international dialogues, business engagement, and building climate resilience.
  • Maintaining and administering the C2ES website and developing features that prioritize growth in traffic and engagement among target audiences.
  • Generating social media strategy and deploying content, while initiating and maintaining paid campaigns in support of C2ES programs and traffic growth.
  • Managing C2ES email marketing campaigns in support of fundraising, live and virtual event registration, and program campaigns and developing strategies for growth.
  • Editing and uploading video to YouTube and C2ES.org
  • Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion expectations: 

-Participate in monthly all-staff meetings led by the staff Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Council (JEDI-C), which provide an opportunity to interact and learn about various DEI-related topic

- Demonstrate commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment

- Complete company trainings assigned during on-boarding and on a yearly basis, including specialized training as relevant for management positions.

 

Qualifications

Qualified applicants will have 5 or more years of experience with digital communications assets, thorough understanding of website design and administration, experience with website management and social media engagement, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent written and verbal communications skills, strong organizational skills, and high attention to detail.

  • Competency in website design and administration.
  • Background in strategic digital communications and social media platforms.
  • Capable with WordPress, HTML, Canva, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite including Premiere Pro, and other related software.
  • Capability for SEO optimization and with markup and programming languages including HTML.
  • Education: Bachelors degree in Communications, Computer Science, Business, Web Development, Environmental Science, or related field preferred.
  • At least five years of related experience highly preferred.

Salary range: $74,000-92,500

 

Reporting to: Vice President for Communications

 

Travel, Time & Location Requirements: This position may be in the Washington, DC area or remote; if remote, physical presence in the main office is expected at least 5 days per quarter. Moderate travel may be expected for workshops and conferences. While not a requirement, preference will be given to candidates that have the right to work in the United States.

 

Employment Status: Full-time, benefits-eligible; exempt from overtime.

  • Holidays: C2ES observes 12 holidays during the year. Additionally, the organization closes the last week of year. 
  • 5% C2ES contribution towards 403b retirement Plan.
