This position will serve as an exciting opportunity to define the system-level architecture and detailed controls and electrical design of the Test Infrastructure at Form Energy! As an Electrical Test Engineer on the Battery Test Team, you will be an integral part of proving out our sub-scale cell, full scale cell and battery module performance. You will be invested in developing and deploying novel, state-of-the-art test equipment, contributing towards the hardware and software development of our test capabilities, and supporting our operations team in keeping our tests online. We are a hands-on team who all love diving into hard problems like test troubleshooting and then designing out these problems for future tests.
Contribute to the mechanical and electrical design of battery test stands including power distribution design, harnessing, safety and interlocks, and data collection.
Collaborate on the design/development of custom liquid-handling, electromechanical and electrical systems in support of test stand improvements and simplification.
Work with technicians to bring your designs to life.
Help maintain and troubleshoot existing test infrastructure in support of ongoing tests and experiments.
A bachelor's degree in Electrical/Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent degree/experience
2+ years of experience developing medium- to high-volume electrical/automation equipment
Experience with an mCAD package (SolidWorks, NX)
Experience with an eCAD package (AutoCAD Electrical, Solidworks Electrical)
Experience working with scripted programming languages like Python
Experience working with data acquisition systems (Keysight, National Instruments, etc.)
Familiarity with PLCs/HMIs
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, startup environment
