Do you enjoy taking ownership in projects while being hands-on and developing (modules of) our direct air-capturing systems? We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Mechanical Architect to join our team.

Your mission

In this role, you will take responsibility for the mechanical side of projects focused on developing and constructing modules for our DAC systems. While supported by a project manager, you will be the right-hand person of the System Architect in multidisciplinary developments including mechanical design, process engineering, electrical, flow, and thermal domains.

As a seasoned mechanical system designer, you enjoy leading a team of multidisciplinary colleagues, including junior members. Your responsibilities are focused on the mechanical architecture of module design, including neighboring disciplines such as flow, thermal and electrical. We are seeking a hands-on and decisive technical leader who can comfortably collaborate with diverse cross-functional teams. 

Responsibilities

• Leading the mechanical design of (modules of) Carbyon's DAC systems.
• Making high-level design choices.
• Being able to include different disciplines in the design (e.g. the development of a vacuum system or air movement), and 'speaking the language' of the other disciplines of architects and engineers.
• Contributing to pilot projects.
• Guiding a team of 3-5 mechanical engineering colleagues.
• Keeping deadlines within projects and working within a given timeframe.

Furthermore, our ideal candidate is someone who:

• Holds an advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  
• Has gained at least 7 years of experience in the industry, preferably 2 or 3 years of experience in mechanical architecture.
• Can keep up with multiple projects while maintaining a high-level overview of all aspects involved.
• Is fluent in spoken and written English to thrive in an international environment.
  
• Thrives in a dynamic and collaborative team environment, demonstrating a proactive and adaptable mindset.
