About Rondo Energy 

Rondo Energy's mission is to eliminate 15% of global CO2 emissions in 15 years. 

To accomplish this mission, Rondo is deploying low-cost, zero-carbon Rondo Heat Batteries to accelerate the deployment of renewable energy and to significantly decarbonize industrial processes that are commonly thought of as "difficult-to-decarbonize". Our Heat Batteries charge from intermittent renewables to provide high temperature, continuous heat for customers safely, reliably, at an unprecedented 98% efficiency - and at a cost point that is lower than any other method.

We are looking for an experienced, customer-centric Staff Electrical Engineer to join our team and repower industrial heat at scale. This role will be responsible for all electrical design, testing and troubleshooting of customer projects, all of which will have a huge impact on the success of Rondo's Heat Batteries, and decarbonizing the world.

What You Will Do (key responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to): 

  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of medium voltage devices and systems to design and implement effective medium voltage solutions for power distribution 
  • Integrate various process sensors for tasks such as temperature measurement, power measurement etc. 
  • Prioritize and implement safety measures in the design and execution of electrical systems that are safe, efficient and compliant with industry standards  
  • Create and interpret single line diagrams to facilitate efficient communication and documentation 

What You Will Bring: 

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 10+ years of experience in MV electrical engineering 
  • In-depth knowledge of medium voltage systems and components 
  • Experience with different types of sensors to enhance system functionality 
  • Expertise in working with different types of actuators to control and optimize electrical controlled systems 
  • Deep understanding of high-power transformers and their integration into electrical systems 
  • Familiarity with safety standards and protocols. 
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. 

Bonus Points! 

  • Knowledge and experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC). 
  • Experience or knowledge of PV solar systems 
  • Ability to use standard laboratory equipment (oscilloscope, multimeters, power meter, etc)

This role is ideally on-site in Alameda in a hybrid model. The estimated annual salary range for this role is $140,000 to $225,000 and it would be eligible for Rondo's excellent benefits listed above plus additional compensation in the form of equity. Please note that we are hiring multiple positions at different levels. Your level and corresponding compensation package will be determined based on many factors throughout the interview process. For those who would need to relocate to the San Francisco Bay Area, a relocation stipend would also be a possible benefit with this role. Please note that some pay bands may have wide ranges of compensation to accommodate candidates' diverse sets of skill levels and experience.
