About the Job

Job Summary
World Resources Institute China Office (WRI China) Food and Natural Resources Program is seeking an Agriculture Research Analyst. The research analyst will conduct research on agricultural policy analysis, modelling, incentive mechanisms, case studies and integrated solutions for the green and low-carbon transition of agriculture sector, to contribute to the sustainable food system transition in China and its interlinkages with global agendas (e.g. climate, biodiversity, SDGs, etc.)

 

Job Responsibilities
  • Conduct science-based research and analysis on policies and practices in the areas of food system with a focus on green and low-carbon transition of agriculture sector, including but not limited to reviewing the international progress, analysing policies and technical solutions, developing practical tools/guidelines, piloting and scaling up typical measures, etc.
  • Work with WRI Global and WRI China teams, draft or co-draft WRI knowledge products (e.g., briefs, reports, working papers, blogs, etc.) in both English and Chinese.
  • Present research findings at internal and external meetings as needed.
  • Conduct surveys, interviews, and field visits with team members and project partners.
  • Assist in organizing external events, workshops, conferences, and other project dissemination or capacity-building activities.
  • Contribute to project proposal, implementation, and progress report.
  • Support other activities as needed.
  • Other tasks from Manager.
Job Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in ecology/agronomy/resources and environment/ agricultural economic/environmental economics/climate change or related fields, cross-cut expertise is a plus.
  • At least three years of highly relevant and full-time work experience in agriculture/ food/ environment related fields.
  • Strong quantitative research, analytical, writing, and presentation skills, preferably with publication experience.
  • Ability to work well in a team, manage multiple priorities, take initiative, and deliver under tight deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a multicultural environment, with good work ethics.
  • Detail-oriented, positive, enthusiastic, and innovative in facing challenges, opportunities and new tasks.
  • Flexibility to travel nationally and internationally.
  • Fluency in written and spoken Mandarin and English.
