The role

We’re looking for an ambitious, driven Sales Development Representative (SDR) to strengthen our growing Sales team and help Overstory grow and thrive in the exciting area of enterprise software as a service (SaaS) focused on climate-tech. As an SDR, you will develop new business opportunities, identify utility customers' unique challenges and qualify and book  meetings for our Sales team. In this remote first position, you will work closely with our Account Executives as well as with our Marketing and Customer Success teams to engage prospects with a highly innovative SaaS solution in the fast growing climate and energy sector. You are independent, creative and persistent in pursuing new connections in prospect accounts and turning them into new business opportunities.

This role allows you to gain a deep understanding of our target audience, offering and sales motion. As you develop your track record, you will have the opportunity to take on increased responsibilities as you grow as a sales professional.

What you’ll do

  • Prospect into large and small utility accounts in North America via account-based research, cold call, email, and social strategies
  • Follow up on leads from a variety of channels
  • Enable the Sales team with key details and information on priority accounts to support our differentiation
  • Set up qualified meetings for Account Executives
  • Interact with prospects of all levels doing discovery and uncovering pain points
  • Maintain accurate CRM data in HubSpot with relevant news and information
  • Learn about Overstory’s product and understand its place in the software landscape in order to prepare and deliver presentations and communicate value
  • Attend trade shows and industry events to create opportunities

About you

  • 2+ years experience as an SDR at an enterprise SaaS/software company, with a demonstrable track record
  • Experience with CRM systems and outbound sales experience including uses of sales enablement systems and technologies.
  • Experience working directly with clients/customers and internal sales teams
  • Passion for thinking creatively, learning new skills, leveraging new technologies and working collaboratively
  • Interest in and awareness of the electrical utility industry in North America
  • Passionate about climate
  • Enjoy working in a remote first, fast-moving environment.
  • You are based in North America, where most of our sales team is based

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working in an early stage (Series A - Series C) startup environment
  • Experience presenting to and communicating with executive audiences
  • Bi-Lingual (Spanish/Portuguese) is a plus

About our team 

We are a group of 62 people from all over the world. Fifteen nationalities are represented in our team. We work remotely from nine different countries and we are looking for candidates that are also living and working in one of these countries: United States, the Netherlands, United Kingdom, Spain, Estonia, Portugal, France, Sweden and Canada. 

We meet up once a year in-person for our unforgettable team gathering event. We also offer the option to occasionally meet up for in-person collaboration.
