POSITION SUMMARY

As the Email & SMS Marketing Specialist, you will lead the hands-on execution of text and email marketing campaigns that support Inspire’s strategic objectives. Campaign types will include servicing, retention, cross-sell, up-sell and acquisition. You will use your knowledge of campaign strategy to provide input on creative, copy and customer journeys while coordinating cross departmental projects. You will build and deploy flawless automated campaigns that are powered by data and leverage real-time insights. You will use your analytical skills to report campaign results summarizing key insights, and offer recommendations for continual improvement of KPIs.

THE EMAIL MARKETING SPECIALIST HAS 5 MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Campaign Build, Automation and Analysis - Build, execute and measure lifecycle marketing, lead nurture, onboarding, retention, and win-back email and SMS campaigns in conjunction with Email Marketing Manager. Own daily campaign monitoring, pre and post-deployment QA and proofreading.
  • Segmentation - Own the creation of customer segments for campaigns and validating audience counts.
  • Testing - Execute A/B tests in partnership with team members/agency partners, report findings and make recommendations for changes that will increase email effectiveness.
  • Documentation - Own documentation of campaigns including campaign slides and internal folders.

SOME YEAR 1 DELIVERABLES

  • Own the documentation of all new and existing email campaigns
  • Become fluent in our ESP system, and audit all existing campaigns to understand campaign triggers and segmentation
  • Implement campaigns that support retention, winback, cross-sell and other objectives such as new product launches and feature releases
  • Own the deployment of A/B testing along with reporting on outcomes
  • Own pre- and post- deployment QA testing across email and SMS

SUCCESS METRICS

  • Flawless execution of campaigns that meet desired outcomes such as improved up-sell, cross-sell and retention rates
  • Improved metrics such as open rate, click-through rate, etc. versus each prior quarter
  • Speed to market - decreased time for campaign edits, execution and deployment

EXPERIENCE

Must Have

  • 3+ years of email marketing experience with demonstrated success of implementing campaigns (preferably both new customer and lifecycle)
  • Highly proficient in at least one ESP tool such as Braze, Customer.io, Cheetahmail, ExactTarget etc.
  • Experience in tracking, analyzing and reporting on KPIs
  • Knowledge of email/SMS best practices and regulations
  • Experience with HTML and ability to troubleshoot basic email coding issues
  • Proficiency in standard MS Office / Google software (PPT/Slides, Word/Docs, Excel/Sheets)

Nice to Have

  • Has worked at a digital agency or firm specializing in email marketing
  • Experience executing and measuring cross-channel prospect journeys and customer lifecycle campaigns
  • Graphic design experience and knowledge of design tools such as InDesign, Photoshop, etc.
  • Proficient in HTML, CSS & mobile-first email design
  • Experience working with an external creative/design agency
  • Experience in a startup or high-growth environment
